Responsible business is not separate from how a data and AI company operates. It is connected to the people, processes and technology behind the work we deliver.

On 12 August 2026, IngeData joined the United Nations Global Compact, a voluntary initiative that encourages companies to align their strategies and operations with Ten Principles covering human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. The initiative brings together more than 23,000 companies across more than 160 countries, providing a global platform for responsible business.

For IngeData, joining the initiative is an opportunity to look more deliberately at how these principles relate to the way we operate as a company and to the responsibilities that come with working across the data and AI value chain.

Why this matters for IngeData

Much of the conversation around AI focuses on models, infrastructure and technical performance. But behind these technologies are people and processes that make data usable.

At IngeData, our work involves people who prepare, annotate, review and manage data, supported by processes and infrastructure that help data-driven applications operate effectively. Our teams work across multiple countries, including Madagascar, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines and the United Kingdom. 

This global footprint has reinforced an important point for us: responsible business is not separate from technology. The way people work, the processes we establish and the decisions we make all form part of how technology is developed and delivered.

Joining the United Nations Global Compact gives us a framework to consider these responsibilities more deliberately.

Four areas at the centre of our commitment

The Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact are organised around four fundamental areas:

Human rights

Respecting and supporting fundamental human rights in the way we operate and work with others.

Labour

Supporting fair and responsible labour practices and respecting fundamental rights at work.

Environment

Recognising our responsibility to consider environmental impacts and support more responsible practices.

Anti-corruption

Maintaining a clear commitment to ethical business conduct and working against corruption in all its forms.

These four areas provide the framework for our participation. The Ten Principles also provide a foundation for supporting progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

An ongoing commitment

For IngeData, joining the United Nations Global Compact is not simply about becoming a participant. It gives us a framework to continue considering how responsible business principles relate to the way we operate and how we work with people, data and technology.

As a participant, we are committed to reporting annually on our progress. This reporting requirement provides a discipline for us to evaluate our practices and share our progress transparently.

Our participation also builds on our existing ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certifications, which reflect our commitment to quality and information security. The UNGC framework extends this commitment to broader areas of responsible business, including human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.

This marks the beginning of a longer-term commitment to considering what responsible business means for a company working at the intersection of data, AI and human expertise. In the coming months, we will explore these principles further through regular blog posts and share perspectives on how they relate to the way we work.
